The “Red Lantern” Gourd Shard Necklace came about because of the shape of the gourd shard which reminds me of a Japanese lantern. Yet  I wood burned tangle patterns that reflect more of a flower design. I finished  the gourd shard with a light wipe of red gourd dye and highlighted it with a white colored pencil. A simple bronze chain hangs at about 11 inches and keeps this piece feather-light. The earring matches the embellishments.  The necklace is not a large piece with the shard  2 ½ inches by 3 inches, but it will draw the attention of others allowing you to talk about gourd art!  Show others your love of hand-made things.I can ship it to you free if you order it now.
