My Blue and Yellow Butterfly Gourd Shard Necklace Set perfectly shows my butterfly-shaped gourd shard. The large shard on this necklace measures about three inches by five inches. This time, I decided to paint the wood-burned shapes on the interior of the butterfly in blues and yellows. I also added copper-wired antennae through the sun, covered with gold leaf foil.

It came out beautifully and hangs from the neck at about 11 inches. The significant part of this shard is the weight of the material. The weight only comes from the beads. I included artist-created glass beads along with blue-green and turquoise beads that add to the excitement of this necklace set.
