I hand make  my necklace sets from gourd shards. My statement pieces are lightweight and add interest to any wardrobe. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.

Most pieces are cut away from the clean gourd and then cut again to create a shape.  The designs are created by a wood burner pen or a carving bit.

Then the color is added to each shard with dyes, inks or paint and sometimes colored pencils and markers. All are sealed with a varnish finish to protect it from fading.

After working with gourds and teaching gourd art skills, I have obtained Gourd Master Status. This means I have showed in galleries and won division red and blue ribbons in the American Gourd Society sanctioned Gourd Competitions.  I also have two published books on creating tangles and doddle with a wood burn on gourds.

To keep my prices low, I have not used sterling silver or 18 caret gold or real gemstones on the chain or earrings.  I use as many light weight beads  and chains as I can find to keep the necklace very lightweight  so it is easy to wear . The earrings are on French hooks and can easily be replaced with hooks that meet your requirements.

My intention is to offer you a fun piece of jewelry as wearable art, not an expensive heirloom piece. Care for it as a piece of art and you will enjoy the pleasure it brings every time you wear for several years. I am still wearing pieces I created ten years ago. I recommend you store it in the box it came in.
